“They say ten thousand hours... the passage of time, sand, turps, oil and paint provide your patina. My trusted friend, waiting for our next adventure...... momentary light, sunshine, wind or rain”
Beth Lowe (nee Swinford) grew up on a farm near the small town of Douglas in the Northern Cape, South Africa. After completing a BA Fine Arts (HED) at Stellenbosch University, she taught art at both Primary and High School levels, and ran private art classes from home while her three children were growing up.
From farm life to living in the coastal town of Kommetjie, Cape Town, Beth has always loved to paint the beautiful outdoor scenes that surround her. Throughout the changing seasons, and various weather conditions, Beth captures these moments in true plein air style. Beth happily endures harsh weather conditions to capture the unexpected and beautiful fleeting moments. Beth has work in galleries on the peninsula and holds exhibitions regularly in her home.
